Attila Orthoped Company was founded in 1980 by Mr. Ali Tahsari with the aim of providing medical equipment needed by patients and medical centers in the country. After examining and understanding the problems, limitations, and required facilities, he decided to create conditions where the treatment of patients with incurable spinal diseases could be carried out by Iranian skilled and knowledgeable surgeons within the country, by resolving the problems and providing the necessary facilities in Iran. In this regard, in addition to sending Iranian surgeons and specialists abroad to undergo training courses on modern spinal surgery methods, the company took another big step towards improving the scientific level of spinal surgery knowledge in the country by holding the first international seminar on spine surgery in Iran in 1993 and inviting the greatest international professors in this field in the world. The first patient who underwent surgery to treat spinal deformity (scoliosis) during this international seminar by foreign and Iranian professors is now a young engineer who works in the quality control unit of the company’s manufacturing plant (Sina) in Sanandaj.
In parallel with the training, the company took steps to import specialized items needed to treat patients in order to provide the necessary facilities and make it possible to perform such surgeries within the country. At the same time, the company, with the aim of producing domestically, placed the localization of highly advanced technology for the production of orthopedic and spinal surgical equipment at the top of its agenda and, by utilizing the knowledge and expertise of the country’s prominent university professors and without the need to obtain technical knowledge from abroad, achieved the technology for manufacturing these highly advanced products for the first time in the country. At the same time as sanctions were imposed on our country, the company began producing the products needed by the country in its factory in Qazvin in 1997 and achieved the great success of producing spinal surgical equipment in Iran for the first time. Another great success that the company achieved was the production of hip joint prostheses for the first time in the country, which registered the name of Attila Orthoped Manufacturing Company as the first manufacturer of orthopedic prostheses in the country. The visit of the then Governor of Kurdistan, together with his deputy, the then President of the Kurdistan Industries and Mines Organization, the then President of the Kurdistan University of Medical Sciences, and other senior managers and officials of the Kurdistan Province to the company’s factory in Qazvin and observing its capabilities, potential, and development plans, prompted them to invite Attila Orthoped Company to construct and launch the company’s factory development plans in Sanandaj, and thus a new chapter began in the field of Attila Orthoped Company’s production activities.
